Baby Cardigans

Over the last few months my mother has been busy knitting tiny little cardigans for the newest arrival in our family, due in July there has been no stopping her. I thought I’d share some of them with you as it’s lovely to see how different yarns look when knitted up – especially in miniature form.

The first cardigan is knitted in supreme baby dk from James C Brett. This yarn is lovely to work with, very soft and is available in quite a few unusual colours (different from the normal pastel shades). The cream is a lovely neutral, not too yellow. This yarn is available here Supreme Baby DK and is just £2.55 a ball and you need less than one ball to make a small baby cardigan or jumper.

Next is a lovely yarn from Cygnet Yarns. Available in 6 shades it’s called Kiddies Couture DK Prints . Again a lovely soft baby yarn which washes well and is very reasonable at £2.69 per 100g ball – great colour choices.

The third cardigan (and my favourite of the baby sized ones) is knitted in James C Brett  Marble DK Yarn . Although this yarn isn’t specifically designed for children it is very soft and definitely works well for older babies and toddlers as well as adults. This hoody looks adorable I’m sure you’ll agree and the yarn is £2.30 per 100g ball.

My eldest daughter is the recipient of the next cardigan which has been knitted in King Cole Pricewise DK , which, despite the name and price, is a great quality DK. The yarn is £1.79 per 100g ball – the colour range in this yarn is fantastic 🙂

I hope you all liked these items, if any of you have any work to share using yarns bought on our site we’d love to see them. Email us at
